• CMX list on Twitter
  • I added a new page on Twitter that lists the CMX users on Twitter. The page is at http://twitter.com/battye/cmx and will list the tweets by CMX members.
At the moment it has me, tune and garmy - as far as I know we are the only regulars with Twitter. I am happy to add any other CMX user with a Twitter account as well, if you have an account please let me know :)

  • It's our 6th anniversary
  • Happy sixth anniversary everyone!

I wanted to do something a bit different this year, so instead of posting a historical piece I thought it might be interesting to see how we treated the forum anniversary in years gone by :)

    1st anniversary (2005)
We attempted to break the site record for most people online at any one time. Unfortunately I cannot remember if we succeeded!
    2nd anniversary (2006)
I organised a game of simulation cricket to celebrate the forum turning 2. It was also around this time that Burian wrote the CMX Uptime program!
    3rd anniversary (2007)
Our third anniversary was a trip down memory lane as we recalled some of CricketMX's most famous (and infamous!) moments to date.
    4th anniversary (2008)
2008 marked CMX's biggest change, the upgrade to phpBB3 Olympus and the unveiling of the new website.
    5th anniversary (2009)
We took another trip down memory lane, including the original chatroom conversation which was probably the catalyst for me creating the site and everyone posting their favorite CMX moments.

I am so proud of this website and I am so grateful to everyone who supports CMX. Thank you! :)

  • It's that time again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Decade!
  • Another year has passed and we are inching closer to CricketMX's sixth anniversary! It is hard to believe that when this website started George Bush was still in his first term as president, Friends was still airing on NBC and Robert Harvey was still a long way from retirement.

Since this time last year I've been pleased with the growth of the articles section, which was initially launched in January 2008. In 2009 (so far) there have been a total of 36,145 article views including 13,098 from off site referrals (Google, other forums, etc).

One of the highlights of the year in terms of articles was something I actually discovered this morning. In the referrals was http://www.onemovementmusic.com.au/testimonials - it turned out that the manager of the artist I wrote about in the Tata Young performance at the One Movement festival in Perth article included a link to CMX in his festival testimonial! :D

That particular article was also one of the most viewed articles of the year, and I'm sure it broke some site of record on the night it was posted. I have never seen an article race to 100 views so quickly. The corresponding YouTube videos didn't do too badly either, with over 3000 views for each of them. Like last year, I want to thank the members of http://www.tatayoungworld.com/ for making that possible.

Most viewed articles of 2009 (articles in bold were posted this year and didn't have the benefit of being established already on Google, etc):

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year. Here's to another exciting decade of CricketMX.com! Thanks to all of our loyal members for making this decade possible :)
