Perth band Eskimo Joe, are in line for a prestigious Australasian Performing Rights association award.
'From The Sea' from the poprockers' platinum album A Song Is A City, was nominated yesterday for song of the year in Australia's biggest peer-voted awards.
Eskimo Joe are up against Jet's 'Look What You've Done', The Dissociatives 'Young Man, Old Man' and two songs from 21 year old Missy Higgins, Scar and Ten Days.
Band spokesman Stuart McLeod said being nominated for songwriting was the highest form of praise.
Last year, WA act John Butler took home APRA's song of the year gong for 'Zebra'.
Melbourne rockers Jet also received nominations for most performed Australian work for 'Look What You've Done' and two nominations for most performed Australian work overseas, for 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl' and 'Cold Hard Bitch'.
Guy Sebastian, Delta Goodrem, Pete Murray and Shannon Noll join Jet in that category.
The awards ceremony is in Sydney on May 30th.
