With Windows98 my computer used to 'freeze solid' untill someone told me to use MaxMem. And it did a great job. It frees the memory occupied by programms that don't use it. Incomming/outgoing data traffic
I am on a cable modem but my ISP has set a quotum on the amount of data we can UL and DL per month. Netstat Live is a tool I've found usefull to keep an eye on the amount of traffic from and to my computer, in real-time.
